The four button sack is always a good choice,it fits any period of the war.

The basic four button sack was used in every theater and every time period during the Civil War.The LINED version was more common,but most reenacters use an unlined version now.The lined version is a bit more expensive,but more correct.

Another choice is the frock coat. A word of warning, they are heavy and the tails can be ackward on a horse.
